Its such a common question, people will ask you as perhaps a definer of who you are “what do you do”  This is such a limiting question for people like me who do not want to be defined by the jobs they do.
“Who are you” is a so much better question, it asks who and what the person you are with really is about.  Not the job they do or pretend to do.  For some others like my partner, who has been in nursing for 20 years, her job does in some ways define here.  that in itself is another challenge.
Or as i was asked the other day, the converged question “ what do you do/who are you?”..try it next time.
