No UK election before Troop Withdrawl

My suspicions are raised by the picture of a smiling Gordon Brown with George W Bush, two people further apart you could not imagine. My feelings of Mr Brown are very positive. Here is someone with infinite patience, who has waited in the wings with humility and understanding whilst Tony Blair took his turn. Someone with this much patience will have a very well worked out agenda, and what ever we think of him or have thought of him, it will be information gained from an image in which he has controlled the information and the way we have gathered it. We must ask, if we think Blair tried to get rid of him but couldn’t then he is a clever politician indeed.

People thought very little of John Major, and that was his style of presentation…the man you would not suspect of ….being prime minister, having an affair with Edwina Currie and so on, so all the while you did not suspect him, he crept up and took over, I mean the guy was Prime Minister of the UK he succeeded Mrs Thatcher, that was some feat.  So it is for Gordon Brown, except we new his was the succession.

I suspect gordon is not all that keen on Iraq, I would imagine because it takes money away from social projects he would like to roll out, he is also concerned about his majority in the next parliament. The one way to secure this is to withdraw from Iraq…..

If and when the Brown government with draws there will be an election. It is the ideal time, as the withdrawl will pull the rug from under the Lib-Dems and the Tories.

In my own town of Lewes where Lib-Dems are fond of harping on about Iraq, no one remembers that in local protests not one local lib-dem councllor turned up, Norman Baker may have turned up once or twice. Most of the people at these protests were people on the left of the labour party, local quakers and others who had good reason to be anti-war.

The war in Iraq is, and has been, a vast mistake and a waste of money. If it is right to get rid of evil fascist dictators then this part of it was good, if one can ever say anything good about war, but the rest was made a morass of mistakes because the UK and USA were misled about the idea that everyone wants ‘the Western Way’ and a complete lack of understanding of Islamic countries.

Lets hope Gordon Brown has the depth of courage that his spiritual and social background suggests and he gets us out and gets himself elected. The war has made us forget all the achievements ( http://www.leweslabour.org.uk/achievements/labour_acheivements.html ) of the Labour Party which have changed the UK for the better, but we are not there yet and the social program is not finished.
