Divorce and a Man with children – the new baby
So as you may know, I am divorced and have two children. I met my new partner on a train (not on the internet..) and I was over at the Fathers Direct web site: http://www.fathersdirect.com/ and i came across this blog by a guy who is expecting a baby with his partner: http://expectant.wordpress.com/ So I began to think of how little I have expressed over the matter of pregnancy and childbirth, why you may ask, what has it got to do with you? Well my partner is expecting too, and the baby is due at the beginning of March, so with this as an intro, perhaps i should say more about it.
To some extent it is a miracle as we are both 45, however I live in the town where the oldest women in the UK possibly the world has given birth so we seem positively young.
Its interesting too that all my previous preconceptions are being cast aside, and I am learning again. I worry over the effect it will have on the children i already have, and they have certainly expressed their opinions on it. However I am into the idea of empowering them and have given them choices about coming to see me ( though I will miss them if they dont come and love it when they do ).
There are so many different things to deal with with a new baby with a second partner, but I have introduced the subject and hope this will lead to more writing.
