I realise I use tis word a lot: shaman and to some extent it has lost its real meaning:
Definition…A word derived from the Tungas language of Siberia, meaning “s/he who knows”, it it is also thought it may have partly derived from Chinese and run through two or three other languages to reach its present pronunciation. In general it appears to be someone who has special knowledge important to a society that is gained spiritual and intuitively by crossing the line between this world and other realities that appear to the shaman to exist side by side or in conjunction with this one. For example plants may talk to them to tell them that they will heal a particular illness.
To me shaman means someone who can walk or transverse between worlds or realities. In reference to a previous article “Shaman of the Audiences”…I became aware that my life experience enabled me to move between audience, performer and director and between performance and psychology. This has enabled me to begin to help a number of performers fulfill their potential and re motivate and affirm themselves. My work has been especially effective with singers and musicians, and has also helped other performers. This through a process of guidance, affirmation and the so called “laws of attraction” . Being motivated takes focus and belief, the paths to these often move across our ideas of ourself and to be a good performer we have to come to some acceptance of all that we are.
