So there I am tapping away on my mac at work after a Lunchtime Party, (yes i know the words lunchtime party evoke an easy life…but beleive me it isn’t) there are a few people left behind chatting and talking and have an odd drink and everyone is relaxed and happy and I hear this voice, a real Jazz voice, a voice I ought to have heard before but I haven’t and she is singing a song, not only in a way that makes me prick up my ears but with a lyric that puts a different spin on things. I walked round the corner of the cabinets and there she was: Tammy Weis…her last album cut in Canada was:
Since this album she has come to the UK and her voice has a new depth and warmth and also more of an edge that comes with experience in life. I recommend you check out her website tammyweis.com where you can download some of her older tracks and hopefully soon she will have some music from her latest studio recordings and a new album. If you work for a UK record company its time you signed her up.
