Your First Days at School

You know your first days at school, may be not, perhaps you blanked it from your mind, or perhaps it was all easy for you and you floated through it. For me this is one of the first things no one tells you, at least not honestly…what its like at school

I wish some one had told me, or at least sent me to Junior Judo, or perhaps Jiu-jItsu (something I took up in later life). Its all positive pep talks about how it will be fantastic and you’ll love it. No one tells you about the child of frankenstein thats in your class and doesn’t like the look of your shirt (replace shirt with any noun you care to mention) or that its tiring and really you should be off playing not learning numbers, but the shape of oakleaves. Yes I know Steiner Education s a bit like that, but Mr and Mrs Frankenstein have taken a bit of a shine to Rudolf Steiner as well, trust me my son has the stitches to prove it.

They don’t tell you about the gang mentality, the fear, the shouting and the blank eyed stares – and thats just the teachers. There is a lot they don’t tell you about school, that might be useful or at leat prepare you for the shock and help you survive. I mean boys hone up your football skills, you are gonna need them.
