The present
Why do we struggle so to live in the present and if we do why is it so often a distroted view we bring?
We often yearn for the “better times” of the past, in fact there is a whole industry to take us there, whether it is victoriana and the antiques trade or the distorted view of some new agers whose view of some halcyon past days of the woods and the green has them in thrall.
What of now, the hedonists who distortedly live for now through sensation have only got part of the ticket as it were.
All past is something we wish for or decidedly would not go back to, this is part of our humanity, a learning from our history, but this can only be done if we acknowledge the present. The present is fleeting always leaving and seemly always just ahead, but this is not true it is now, a whole seres of nows that we live in. To be grasped by the body mind feelings and spirit, yes there are things i would go back to and things I look forward too but now is where the energy is whatever you make of it.
The spirit of the green still lives now but is not the same as it was then, just as the living for today mentality of todays youth misses out on the spirit that is part of what i have just mentioned. Of course these statements are all sweeping generalisations, but they are even now being swept back into the past and you don’t have to go there or perhaps you haven’t go to these words yet and they are in your future, something yet to come, I look forward to it, but I have something to do… NOW
