A Good Weekend

I started to write this yesterday and then lost it when I closed my browser, but I did have a lovely weekend, I feel this is mainly becuase I went with the flow.

It started well on Friday evening, when my 9 year old son came over,we talked, we went to the park to play football, then watched a bit of tv together and then I took him home, I think we were both happy. Then on Saturday morning…

I decided that the weekend would be one of doing what felt right, so I pottered about and then my girlfriend came over and we had brunch…lovely croissant coffee and bacon tomato and mushroom, we sat and ate and chatted outside in my garden then a little later went to Brighton to see an excellent Arts Council exhibition at The Brighton Musem, I was inspired. We also had a look around some of the design and costume galleries at the Museum, which since its refurbishment has become a really interesting and exciting space.

Well saturday was also Gay Pride in Brighton , so we walked up to Preston Park and it was packed, no it was heaving, so much going on so many people and such a good atmosphere. Music, Markets, sex and politics.

So we are walking along when I met someone I haven’t seen for nearly 11 years (and he was best man at my wedding) he’s sitting on the grass with a small baby in a buggy, and we sat down and caught up on old times.

Later we went back home had a swift drink in the pub and then back to bed for an early night….and so the feeling moved in to Sunday, when we repeated the brunch and i got alot of work done in the garden…the sun shone and the ice creams got eaten.

At the end of the weekend I felt a good sort of relaxed and tired..satisfied.
