What Can I Do

Wake up and take power

I have recently been reading and watching Michael Moore ( Bowling for Columbine, Stupid White Men )a lot, I know he has his own agenda but much of what he says makes sense.  Its no use complaining about things, about the lies of politicians and the mess they have made of things if we are not willing to take responsibility.  It doesn’t take much to stand in any election, from the school board to local councils and state representation.  They want you to think its hard and they will discourage you, wake up take back the power…

Wherever you are wake up, get a group together and go join one of your local poitical parties..en masse… and take it over, often times not many people go to these meetings and they keep out new comers by making the meetings as boring as possible, some parties say you must have been a member for a year before taking office…so wait a year and then start going to meetings, sit through this bide your time and then take over.  Better still if you want to stand in local elections get a group together and make your own independent political group.  In the United states so many positions of power and semi power from area representatives to senator are elected and all you need is 20 signatures ( and in the case of a senator a multi-million dollar bank roll) to get on the ballot paper.
In the Uk and Europe, independent politicians (those not affiliated to a political party) have found a fair amount of success.
But start small elections for your school board, town or local area.  In most countries all you have to be is 18.  Michael Moore was elected to the post of President of the School Board when he was 18 so he could sack the principle of his school….think about it…20 signatures 18 years old.  You don’t need a gun, just get elected.
You see the point is after the debacle of Bush being elected president, even though he lost, we have to reclaim democracy, we must wake up and take power.  Talk to your friends ask them what they think, contact me if you want help.
