English Football and The State of Play

Bollocks…the greatest comeback of all time and all that crap, the state of english football is that it has become a parody of itself.

Liverpool, two blokes from liverpool and the rest representatives of the EU constitution just say yes group and against a motley crew mostly from ~Italy.

What has happened to English Football, never mind Glaziers take over of Man U, Football, is “the football business”.  Its been taken over lock stock and two smoking barrels of cash…

“Manchester DisUnited: And the Business of Soccer” (Mihir Bose)

Look at all the top teams in the premier league…vast wads of cash and all the best players in Europe jumping at the chance tom play for £100,000 a week pay packet.. Someone said the other week, each premier league club gets approx 20million in TV rights…that can’t be right can it??

20 years ago top teams played to half empty stadia, so you can’t win really.

So we what happens we ban hoodies from shopping malls, introduce ID cards, continue killing Iraqis, decide Chairman Mao was as bad as Stalin, Che is just a guy on a t-shirt, Castro an out of touch old man and shopping is the most popular passtime in the UK.

We are cut adrift from the things that kept us grounded and nothing to replace it except a love of money.

The greatest come back in football has been it s new ability to make lots of money, that head of Uefa was on the telly, just looked like a rich fat cat business man to me.  How long will they drag out the can liverpool defend the champions league for to pump up next years viewing figures???

is it me?
