Friends and Friendship
Friendship is constant in all other things
Save in the office and affairs of love.
* William Shakespeare
The proper office of a friend is to side with you when you are in the wrong. Nearly anybody will side with you when you are in the right.
* Mark Twain
Friendship is the marriage of the soul, and this marriage is liable to divorce.
* Voltaire
If at the end of your life you can say…
you have one friend then you consider yourself very lucky. I understand that George bernard Shaw once said to walk down Oxford Street at the busiest time and look at absolutely everyone, and ask yourself if you might like any of them to be your friend? The answer …maybe one, but more likely… none.
Friends are important, but it is a word bandied around to cover what are really aquaintances, real friends have an intangible element about them, that has a breadth and depth to it and if you have it or can offer it, then value it.
Friends walk the road with you on part of your true lifes journey.
