Taking LSD…trip out

Drug Use…just one experience

I was with some friends the other day and we were talking about chocolate initially and then the topic moved round to coffee and other drugs. One of my friends doesn’t drink coffee because he is very sensitive to it and it makes him very high in an uncomfortable sort of way. well this and another article i saw on the web set me off thinking about my own drug experiences…

So in an earlier/other life, I used drugs…in fact I partook of most drugs, something I should stress i do not do now. However I cannot condemn drug taking, although I admit it has its dangers, and it is a serious business as far as mental and physical health are concerned.

I was lucky and always beleived i had a round trip ticket out of drug use and so it has been. When I was at University I studied heroin use ( not my thing personally…but its demonisation interested me) and my thesis came to the conclusion that there were many more part time users than is generally understood and the majority of stats and understanding of heroin and other drug use comes from those that approach the authorities for help, or fall under the control of authorities because of other unlawful behaviour, the other interesting thing was that whilst crime is often used to support drug use, there is a body of evidence to suggest it is crime that comes first and then drugs, but then the two become interlinked. Last point here is that I tracked the first mention of playground/drug pushing in the UK…at the time a rare occurance and note that the enormous publicity given to this one incident was as good as a PR/Ad campaign suggesting to dealers to use the playground as a means of supply.

Anyhow there was a time when i experimented with LSD, a fascinating and scary drug…about which I have many tales to tell, this is the first.

I took a couple of tabs of acid with a friend in my then flat we also had a couple of spliffs and some beer, and then the trip set in, at first incredibly funny and a relaxed ecstatic experience, filled with new perceptions and mild halluciantions, enhanced by the hash we had smoked.

However the dark side began when I began to look at books of art, gaining a new perception of many of the pictures, especially a book of art noveau, but then i every picture I noticed standing, sometimes in the back ground, sometimes just behind the main character, a dark figure who I felt was of great evil, this figures face after a while to on the character of a sharp nosed fox with razor sharp teeth. Somehow he got from the pictures into the room and where ever I looked he appeared to be there.

The effects of the LSD came in waves becoming stronger and stronger, and my view of this half hidden evil brought more and more fear. At the final stage I looked at the pattern of the curtains, the shapes of the plastered cieling and saw only this evil fox like sharp toothed monster, it god so bad that in the end every fibre of the carpet had this head on it, and then came my epiphany…for I realised that none of this could happen without me, the drug needed me to interact with, the visions needed my perception, my thoughts my feelings….even if this really was an entity outside of me it needed me to be seen, and at that moment every single thing within my perception down to a molecular level (or so it seemed) emitted a ray of light with beamed toward me and entered and enveloped my body and senses and then were gone. al was calm, peaceful and the sense of foreboding and evil had gone.

I will never forget this experience and the opening of my eyes to the creation of god and evil, that starts with ourselves.

Please Note: this is not an invitiation to go out and take LSD or an encouragement to do so…it is a powerful and dangerous drug that can change your life…for the worse as often as not. Its just one of my experiences, an ordinary one for many young and old, and an extraordianry one too…see what you think, I know I will try and write more on this taboo subject
