Tooth ache and the state of dentistry in the UK

Perhaps its getting old, or sometimes the repetitive nature of life, work and so on but I have struggled to write something this past week. Perhaps its also the nature of tooth ache that it takes your mind and energies away from other things.
Dentistry in the UK leaves alot to be desired, whether it is NHs dentistry or Private, and what is this thing that Daily Mail readers and the wealthy seem to have about if you pay for some kind of health care it must be better…

I have had bad private dentistry…a gold filling that fell out and was beautifully and carefully replaced by my NHS dentist. Also the merry go round of dentists at my local NHS practise, where people seem to come for a while, practise their skills and then move on to bigger and better profits…oops sorry I mean practice in the private sector.

anyhow, I have in my time had three great dentists, 2 in London and one the first dentist of my life, who was also my parents dentist who was outside London.

At the moment I have a new dentist at my practice, but I don’t trust him, look I don’t know him, about a year ago some of my teeth started to get very sensitive, probably because my gum receded because my mouth drys out at night (yes ok I snore). Well it got a bit better for a while, but now its worse, and hurts when I bite. This is a new phenomenon for me, as i am not used to problems with my teeth, and am a little scared. Oh well something will have to be done and done to me whether I pay or not …a stranger will have to be trusted with my innermost pain (the pain in my tooth) but isn’t that always the way.
