Birthdays

Ahh Birthdays it is my sons birthday, and i have always liked them celebrating with others on theirs or my own…fear of aging is overcome by joy at birthdays.

I was born on the same birthday as my father, I have only realised how this might have effected my sister, as we grew up, but it certainly effected me. Birthdays somehow seemed bigger and made me link with my father even though , perhaps because we were so similar , we often clashed.

Since he died 10 years ago, birthdays have not been the same. I like a quiet birthday now and really what i like best on my birthday, even though others have tried to give me surprise parties and other fantastical things, is fish and chips.

The best present I got was my old bike back with tyres mended and i have been riding it around alot.
